Developed by United Bonded Fabrics (Tontine Fibres) and the QLD Dept of Primary Industries, Jutemaster^® is the only jute geotextile manufactured in Australia.

Jutemaster^® is a 100% biodegradable matting used to stabilise embankments, control soil erosion and as a mulch blanket to suppress weeds and promote revegetation.

Jutemaster:

It is during the first vulnerable stages of plant establishment that using Jutemaster^® is most effective. Jutemaster^® works by reducing weed competition, retaining moisture, stopping erosion and allowing the planted stock to effectively colonise the area.

Jutemaster^® is suitable for small and large-scale revegetation works. By using Jutemaster, you can eliminate the need for mulching and reduce maintenance costs associated with plant establishment. We also have a product suitable for the home gardener, Jutestrip.

Jutemaster^® in available in two different thicknesses:

Thin Mat

A lighter grade material, it is installed over the seeded area to prevent water and wind erosion. Fine Mat creates a moist microclimate in the soil ideal for seed germination. It helps to increase the rate of plant survival, reducing the cost of replanting.

Thick Mat

A heavy grade product excellent for weed and erosion control. Thick Mat reduces weed competition, minimizes water evaporation and gives plants a chance to establish themselves. It is manufactured in a variety of thicknesses designed to extend the time it takes to biodegrade.

Jutemaster^® Fine and Thick Mat can be made to order for specific projects in a range of roll widths and thicknesses, and in squares for supporting tree or shrub planting.
